The Price Of Freedom Is Steep

I woke up today with a nagging thought.

“Is this it?”

2 years ago, I was slaving away at corporate as an engineer.

I often daydreamed about quitting my 9-5, wanting it so badly.

Just so I could do whatever I wanted with my time.

To be outside when others are forced to be inside.

To have freedom of time and place.

I used to be just like you, and I fully understand your exact position.

What I’m getting at is that there is another side to the coin of entrepreneurship.

The price of freedom was indeed steep.

And a funny thing happens when you get to your goals.

It’s a phenomenon that almost every entrepreneur deals with.

No matter their income level.

And it’s 3 simple words…

“Is this it?”

This cliche is so true that it hurts to hear if you’ve reached this point.

“Enjoy the journey, not the destination.”

And while the journey might be filled with endless hours of “suffering.”

It’s the journey that gives your goals weight. It’s what makes it worth it.

But it’s also important to recognize why you’re doing this in the first place.

WHY are you sacrificing endless hours of time, work, and energy towards a business?

Because once you achieve it, you’ll need to remind yourself of this very clearly:

“Why the hell am I even doing this?”

The WHY always puts the “Is this it?” into perspective.

If you work with me, this is usually the first step I get you to answer for yourself.

Because no matter how cool it is to have freedom, it can also crush you.

If your why is not strong enough from the start, you will either:

  • Fall off on the journey towards the top of the mountain
  • Reach the top just to fall down again

This is a real thing.

I’m in private chat groups with real-life millionaires, and they all say the same thing.

  • Always know your why.
  • Always enjoy the journey.
  • And don’t achieve your goals.

And that’s exactly what I’m doing, and enjoying every step of the way.
