Can The Best AI Copywriting Software Make Decent Copy? (Test Results of 2022)
If you’re a content writer, there’s a good chance you’ll eventually face the question of whether or not to use AI copywriting software.
Copywriting is an essential skill for any marketer, and automating the process with AI can seem like an attractive option. But can AI really create a decent copy?
In this article, we’ll compare the capabilities of the three best AI copywriting software on the market right now, with those of human copywriters, and help you decide if automation is right for you.
The Basics - What Is Copywriting?
Copywriting is the art of writing persuasive content for the purpose of marketing, sales, or advertising.
It's all about crafting an interesting and eye-catching story that will resonate with your audience and convince them to take action.
It's also identifying specific problems and desires that customers have and convincingly guides them to a solution through a product or a service.
Copywriters are essential for any business, as they help create compelling content that can drive sales and boost brand awareness.
And while some people may think that AI can never truly replace humans when it comes to copywriting, we believe that the right software can do a pretty decent job.
How Does AI Copywriting Software Compare to Human Copywriters?
Although AI copywriting software is becoming more advanced and sophisticated with each passing year, it still can't compare to the skills of a human copywriter with decades of experience, this is probably obvious when you think about it.
But one of the main advantages that AI has over humans is its ability to scan and analyze large amounts of data very quickly.
This means that it can produce results more efficiently and at a lower cost.
However, AI still lacks the ability to write creatively or emotionally, which is a key component of good copywriting.
Humans are able to connect with readers on an emotional level, which can often result in a more powerful connection with the audience, and in the end more sales for the marketer.
We can also understand complex concepts and communicate them in a way that is easy for people to understand.
Although AI copywriting software is becoming more advanced, it is still unable to match the skills of a human copywriter.
But with all of this being said:
What if I told you that everything in this particular section that you've read so far, has in fact been written by an AI.
Would you believe me? Almost too good to be true?
Give it a few more years and AI will probably be on the level of professional copywriters, but for now, they work great as a writing assistant to get your creative ideas out at a faster pace.
Comparing The 3 Best AI Copywriting Software of 2022

| The Case Study
Our fictional topic was about selling a Basketball training program to a target list of email subscribers.
A professional copywriter has already made a high converting copy for this with techniques such as DIC (Disrupt, Intrigue, Click) coupled with NESB (New, Easy, Safe, Big).
Obviously, an AI writing tool won't use techniques like this, and for simplicity, we will only create copy for the first few paragraphs.
| The Original Copy by Human Copywriters
Title: Basketball Is A Guard's Game...Here's Why
"This is a guard's game."
That's what my coach told me in college...
Now that statement is more true than ever.
Even big men have to learn guard skills because the game has become such a "guard game".
What does that mean for you?
It means you have to have better "guard skills" than everybody else.
There is a lot that goes into being a great guard.
The problem is most players, coaches, and trainers completely neglect those qualities.
That's where the "Basketball Training Program" is different from any other training program in the world...
As you can see from the copy above, the copywriter goes into a big disrupt in the first sentence, sets the frame, presents a problem, and that there is a solution to the problem.
Now, this is where it becomes interesting, how well do AI copywriting tools fare in comparison? First up, Hypotenuse!
| 1. Hypotenuse.ai
Hypotenuse is a fairly new AI copywriting tool that uses natural language processing to generate human-like copy.
It works wonderfully for articles, writing product descriptions, and social media posts, but how about the copy?

| 2. Jasper.ai
Jasper is one of the most popular AI copywriting tools for content marketing, landing pages, and long-form blog posts made for search engines, so it's a given to include this Ai writing software in our test.
They have a few frameworks to generate copy, and from testing both AIDA, PAS, and Before-After-Bridge copywriting techniques, the PAS generated the best content close to our original copy.
Problem: The NBA is changing and the game is becoming more guard-oriented. Most basketball training programs only focus on teaching post players how to dominate down low.
Agitate: But what about the guards? They're becoming more and more important in today's game, and yet there are very few good training programs out there for them.
Solution: Guard Game is the solution. Our program is designed by former NBA players and coaches who know what it takes to make a great guard. With our program, you'll learn how to shoot off the dribble, create space for yourself, read defenses, and much more.
| 3. Rytr.me
Rytr is a much cheaper alternative to Jasper and comes with both PAS and AIDA to generate copy. The AI writer did a pretty good job and generated content that was pretty decent in both quality and length.
Problem: With the change in basketball's dynamics and the development of the three-point shot, guard skills have become more important than ever. Many players lack the proficiency to play effectively in a guard position and it has become frustrating for them to find any skill improvement or new ways to develop their skills.
Agitate: Guard Game is a revolutionary training program for developing guards' skills. The data-driven program is constantly updated with new challenges and techniques to keep players motivated and on their toes, as well as give them access to best practices from high-level professionals in the field.
Solve: Guard Game knows that you're in need of an update on your skills. They believe that guards are the most important player in the game and that it's important to keep up with the times. With this in mind, they developed Guard to provide you with effective guard training regardless of your skill level.
| Test Result Conclusion
So what can we conclude from the results?
For starters Hypotenuse offered the most realistically sounding copy that flowed nicely when read out loud.
The AI writing assistant did a pretty good job of simply entering extremely few words and just three product descriptions to guide it, super impressed!
It was honestly the absolute fastest and simplest to use and generated content with good length.
Jasper and Rytr on the other hand have dedicated copywriting tools and frameworks to work with. And you can tell that the ai writing tools tried to be a bit more clever with the copy.
Jasper generated too little text according to me, but this is subjective.
Rytr had a good length on the copy and went more in-depth on the problem before presenting a solution.
Overall it's a close call, but I personally liked the flow better with Hypotenuse, and the fact that it's cheaper and extremely easy to use compared to the others and produced high-quality content.
If you're looking for a quality AI copywriting software that's easy to use and won't break the bank, any of these will work but I'd have to recommend Hypotenuse overall!
How Does AI Copywriting Software Work?
So, how does AI copywriting software work?
In a nutshell, AI copywriting software relies on artificial intelligence and natural language processing (NLP) to create and improve content.

Not only can AI copywriting software create new content, but it can also improve existing content. The software will analyze your content and make suggestions for how it could be improved – for example, by adding more keywords, changing the tone, or fixing grammar mistakes.
